A native of south central Los Angeles, Gatewood has an unyielding commitment to the inner city, and frequently returns to the community to nurture the talents and aspirations of others through his volunteer work. "It is important to be a role model for children and young adults. I want to emphasize to children the importance of education, respect, and self-expression."
