Marcella Muhammad

Marcella Muhammad

Marcella Hayes Muhammad is a master painter who, with over 35 years experience, has been recognized for her elegant, sophisticated and excitingly colorful style. Whether realistic, abstract or graphic, her clean, colorful detail allows the viewer to share the emotion and beauty she interprets into her work. Much like Picasso, she has mastered many techniques, which allows her to bring to the viewer a variety of moods, emotions, and beauty she sees in every day life.
Marcella works primarily with oils on canvas but uses pencil, ink, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media depending on what she wants to achieve. She enjoys the warm, natural texture of canvas and is noted for her smooth, clean application of oil, often so fine that one can see the texture of the canvas underneath. Her expert use of color, shading and detail create visual depth and texture without relying on a palet knife. The use of balance, proportion, and color to properly direct the focus of the viewer's eye is critical to her. Her attention to such detail assures that each painting is worthy of respect and maintains a lifetime of enjoyment for the viewer.
